Location: St. Lawrence Market
Since its inception the festival has featured hundreds of the best street performers from around the world, hosted hundreds of thousands of amazed spectators and has helped raise close to one million dollars for Epilepsy Toronto. Not only is it now the largest festival of its kind in North America it is also the largest Epilepsy awareness raising event in the world!
Spontaneous, colourful and bursting with the unexpected - there is something for everyone at BuskerFest; silent comedy and slapstick, daredevils and magicians, high skill circus acts and a wide variety of music, clowns, contortionists, acrobats, aerialists, puppets, fire and a few things we have no words to describe.
Set in the heart of the historic St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood, the festival offers a cornucopia of international cuisine and a host of artisans exhibiting their work for shopping, perusing and indulging between acts.
During the day, there are workshops, shows and activities especially for the kids in the Scotiabank BuskerPlay area and after dark, the streets come alive with fire and excitement as the comedy and the skies grow darker.
